Loyalty sells Jost

Libertyville (Ill.) junior three star ranked offensive tackle recruit Tyler Jost (6-foot-6, 265 pounds) decided to check out Iowa State one more time in person on Thursday and by the end of the day Jost gave the Cyclones his verbal commitment.

"I always felt that Iowa State was my favorite but I just wanted to see the school in person one more time," Jost said. "I got to Iowa State yesterday and all of the family feeling came back to me and I knew I was ready to commit so I committed."

Jost discussed why he decided to pledge to the Iowa State Cyclones.

"Coach (Matt) Campbell, Coach (Tom) Manning and Coach (John) Kuceyeski offered me when they were at Toledo and once they made the coaching change to Iowa State they got ahold of me and had me visit Iowa State within the first month they started at Iowa State. I just have always connected with those coaches from very early on and they really showed me and my family a lot of loyalty in this process. They just feel like family. I visited Iowa State right away and they offered me. I loved everything that Iowa State has to offer on that first visit. I just wanted to make sure that I was feeling those same strong feelings I had at Iowa State before I committed. I visited yesterday and I was sold. It was actually a very easy decision for me to make."

Jost' excitement for the ISU Cyclones program extends beyond his connection with the staff.

"Iowa State just has so much to offer. They have amazing facilities, a great campus and I just found myself walking around on Thursday before the spring practice last night and I knew I belonged at Iowa State. I know that I can get a great education along with helping the Cyclones program do some great things. Coach (Matt) Campbell just brings so much excitement. It's just a great fit for me ay Iowa State."

Jost can now focus on wrapping up his junior year and preparing for his senior season without any recruiting pressures.

"It feels good to be done. I just want to get back next week and get back to work for next season and focus on school and my team."

Tyler Jost is verbally committed to Iowa State.
