2016 Washington Panthers Summer/7on7 plans

Washington 7 on 7/lineman challenge July 23rd

Did you know...Washington won the Class 4A state football championship in 1985 and also placed second in Class 4A in 1983?

Top Impact Player for Washington in 2016? The Panthers have an impressive number of starters back for 2016 yet none will be as important than on the offensive line. With all five starters back from a season ago, the line will be asked to help break in a new group of offensive skills this fall. Senior OT Dan Witherspoon (6-foot-6, 300 pounds) has been drawing steady recruiting looks this spring and summer.

Biggest Concern heading into 2016? The offensive skills inexperience. Gone is graduated standout QB Randy Meneweather from a season ago. Who steps up and leads the offense under center? Who becomes the main weapon in the Panthers running game?

EDGYTIM's Way Too Early Take on the 2016 Washington? It's pretty hard to feel too bad for the Panthers and head coach Darrell Crouch inexperience in a few key spots in 2016. Sure Washington will need to break in some new faces especially in the offensive skills, yet those skills will be surrounded with a group of experienced offensive line and receivers. Look for Washington to again be a force in the Mid Illini and beyond in 2016.

EDGYTIM's Way Too Early regular season record prediction for Washington? 9-0/8-1
