WR Tucker recaps NIU choice

DeKalb (Ill.) junior wide receiver recruit Cole Tucker (6-foot-2, 170 pounds) didn't take very long to make up his mind and give the in-town Northern Illinois University Huskies his verbal commitment.

"I gave it a few days to think it over with my family and my coaches after NIU offered me," Tucker said. "I just have always loved NIU football and I was ready to commit so I committed. Everyone is very excited and happy for me."

Tucker filled us in on why he decided to give the NIU Huskies his early commitment.

"I really tried to step away from the fact that I live in DeKalb and look at things if I wanted to get away from home for college. In the end it's just too good of an opportunity for me to pass up at NIU. I love NIU football and even when I stepped by and looked at everything I still saw myself playing for NIU. "

Look for Tucker to now become another recruiter for the NIU Huskies.

"I definitely want to help us bring in some kids in this class. I've already have talked to some of the coaches about that and I'll be calling some of those kids soon to talk."

Now Tucker can put his recruiting process behind him and focus on his senior season.

"I'm pretty excited to be done with recruiting and I can just look forward to my senior year."

Cole Tucker is verbally committed to Northern Illinois University.
